Winter 2020 After-School Enrichment Classes

Registration is open! The Camelot PTA is excited to offer several fee based after school enrichment
options. The majority of classes run for one hour a week/4:00 pm - 5:00 pm, unless noted below.
A limited number of scholarships are available for free and reduced lunch students, see registration links for

Silver Knights Chess Club
Tuesdays January 21st - March 24th 4:00-5:00pm
$116/8 sessions Grades K-6

Playing chess is a great way to develop a child’s critical thinking skills, sportsmanship, and patience – all while having fun! Silver Knights instructors use a curriculum developed by National Masters for a combination of learning and play. No class 1/28 & 3/3.
"Grow," A Leadership Program for Girls
Tuesdays January 21st - March 24th 4:00-5:00pm
$96/8 sessions Grades 3-6

Grow is not a “girl power” club. Girls already have the power! Grow is about solidarity, visibility, and validation. It's about changing perspectives, finding role models, and sharing experiences and opinions through hands-on workshops designed specifically for the inequities girls face today. No class 1/28 & 3/3.
Robotics Club
Wednesdays January 22nd - March 11th 4:00-5:00pm
$176/8 sessions Grades 1-6

In Silver Knights Robotics clubs, students work in pairs with 280 piece LEGO® WeDo 2.0 kit and a tablet to build and
code robots with gears, pulleys, and wheels. We have several years of curriculum, so students who like the club can
sign up over and over again, to build, code, and test new projects. Silver Knights provides all the equipment, so
students don't need to bring anything except for enthusiasm and curiosity!

artXplorations
Fridays January 24th - March 13th

ArtXplorations offers an amazing slate of all new art projects for your kids. From sketching in charcoal to acrylic impressionism, the projects allow each child a chance to find his or her own visual voice. Limited spaces with unlimited learning. Please note there are two classes this session, grades 4 - 6 (mornings, 8am - 9am) and grades K - 3 (afternoons, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

Coding Club
Fridays January 24th - March 13th 4:00-5:00pm

Silver Knights Coding Club teaches children to create stories, games, and animations using Scratch, a visual programming language. New coders learn the basics while challenging more experienced coders to create increasingly complex programs while offering different projects every session. To register, please visit:

***PLEASE NOTE: Camelot ES teachers will also offer free afterschool programs for students through the MakerSpace program and other class opportunities for specific grades. These programs may include a robotics class, coding class, and/or 6-8 week Chess Club (Chess club is 4th-6th graders only). Students are selected for MakerSpace classes by lottery and space is limited, so students are not guaranteed a spot in the class. More details about these free programs will be sent home when they have been finalized.***
